Hacklebarney Loop
7/10/2026 – Hacklebarney State Park
Quick Stats
– Distance: 3 Miles
– Difficulty: Easy – Moderate
– Conditions: Rainy and Humid > Sunny
The hike started sunny and turned into a little bit of rain. Fortunately the rain only lasted a short time and went back to sunny for the rest of the trip. Overall beautiful day for a hike.
Starting off from the large parking lot the trail head is just to the right of the main building. A short walk brings you to the first split. Chose to the Riverside Trail for the scenic views and plenty to explore.
Following along the Riverside Trail will quickly lead you to some great look features and waterfalls. I think I was luck on this day to catch some rain as it really helped out with the views of the water.
Some of the trails here are paved but there are plenty of areas that are rocky including many step offs that lead you to very natural views. It really shows that this park has been cared for and carefully planned to include these areas for many to enjoy.
I plan on visiting here again and would highly recommend hike trip to anyone interested in visiting a stunning forest / river landscape.
